Upgraded Guyana 1000-dollar with RAPID® Vision

The Bank of Guyana has taken proactive measures to ensure the security of its popular $1000 banknotes (1000 Guyana Dollars).  A RAPID® security thread effective at reducing counterfeits has been upgraded to RAPID® Vision.   

The banknote’s first upgrade in 2019 used RAPID to replace two Level 1 security features: a holographic stripe and colorshift thread while leaving its familiar, overall design unchanged.   

RAPID Vision makes the banknote even more secure and easier for the public to verify quickly and accurately. The 6 mm wide RAPID Vision security thread displays macro-effects of radiating green rings, and Jaguar in light and dark brown, the two colors complementing the banknote’s two-sided intaglio printing.   

Closer examination of the RAPID Vision security thread reveals exceptional details for the collector banknote enthusiast. The denomination numeral ‘1000’ in white is plainly legible, while a slight tilt of the banknote transforms a brown Jaguar with white spots, into a rare brown-spotted Jaguar.
